Jessie Saitanan powers Mapua to beat San Sebastian
Manila, Philippines - Mapua outlasted San Sebastian, 89-81, through the magnificent performance of Jessie Saitanan in the NCAA Season 90 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Saitanan scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Cardinals capture their first win after starting 0-6.
Aside from the offense, the Cardinals defense had effectively shut down the offense of the Stags. It was a tight game early but the Cardinals showed tight defense in the fourth quarter to separate themselves over the Stags
CJ Perez scored 22 points and John Ortuoste added 16 points.
