Ateneo faces NU in the UAAP Final Four showdown
The Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles take on the National University Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 77 basketball Final Four game at 4:00 PM September 24, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
With the twice-to-beat advantage, the Blue Eagles would love to end the this game in a victory to be in the UAAP Finals. Ateneo (11-3)will be led by Kiefer Ravena, UAAP Season 77 MVP, to dismantle the defense of NU.
Ravena averages 21.2 points5.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. His clutch baskets enabled the Blue Eagles to win tight games, decided in the last two minutes. Thus, the Blue Eagles have the slight advantage when it comes to closing out.
Coming off from thriller 51-49 victory over UE in the playoff, National University is ready to fight another game just to stay alive. NU needs to win this game to force another match against the Blue Eagles.
The Bulldogs won both their meetings over the Blue Eagles this season. NU contained Ravena into only 13 points in their first game on July 26, in which the Bulldogs outscored the Eagles, 64-60.
During their second match on August 22, the Bulldogs defeated the Blue Eagles 76-66 through the magnificent game of Alfred Aroga with 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight shot blocks.
In both Games Troy Rosario averages 15 points, while Aroga has been dominating the paint. Meanwhile, Ravena had been limited to 18 points in the second game.
Ateneo might be the top seed but the psychological advantage goes to the NU Bulldogs.
