Georgia vs South Carolina football: TV Schedule, Odds, Preview

The battle for the SEC East is on the line when the Georgia Bulldogs meet the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday’s college football game at the Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC.

Georgia’s opener was dominating as they overpowered Clemson 45-21 on August 30. Georgia imposed its will on the ground through Todd Gurley’s 198 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Bulldogs ability to move the chains on the ground provided them to extricate the defense, and to beat Clemson.

Last year, Georgia outlasted the then-No.6 Gamecocks 41-30, to end the three-game losing streak. Gurley rushed 30 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns against the Gamecocks.

Meanwhile, South Carolina was blown out by Texas A&M in the opener but they defeated East Carolina last Saturday in 33-23 score.

Running back Mike Davis is expected to help South Carolina to navigate through the opponents’ defense. While he had 149 yards and a touchdown last year against this team, Georgia now is totally different in defense.

Davis had only 15 yards against Texas A&M and he had 101 yards and two touchdowns against East Carolina. Davis has to be effectively attacking and producing for the Gamecocks to have a chance to win. Without Davis’ “A” game, the Gamecocks won’t go anywhere in front of the Bulldogs.

Quarterback Hutson Mason completed 18 of his 26 passes for 131 yards over Clemson. He may not have shown what he got but he could be explosive at any time with his receivers Michael Bennett and Sony Michel.

Georgia football must have to be the aggressor against the deep cravings of the Gamecocks to win a game. Absolutely, the Gamecocks are not willing to lose two consecutive SEC games in a row.
