Utah vs Michigan football: TV Schedule, Odds, Point Spread, Preview

The Utah Utes meet the Michigan Wolverines for a college football game showdown on Saturday at 3:30 PM ET, at the Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI.

After losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Michigan Wolverines are back in the groove of winning. Michigan defeated Miami (OHio), 34-10, last Saturday through the running game of Derrick Green, who rushed 22 times for 137 yards and two scores.

Part of the success of the Wolverines is the ground game that has kept the offense in balance. Moreover, De’Veon Smith added 44 yards in nine carries. Michigan’s offense is not one-dimensional when quarterback Devin Gardner completed 13 of 20 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Gardner also had six rushes for 25 yards.

Michigan relies on their defense. It allows an average of 80 yards per game in rushing and 172.7 in passing. It’s the defense that would make the difference in this match against the Utes.

Being in the Pac-12 made Utah a different team. the Utes have not been successful in winning games on the road. In the last three years, the Utes are 6-11 on the road. Utah (2-0) has a chance to get back into contention if they would wind up victorious against the Wolverines. Coming off from a bye week, the Utes have the fresh legs to force turnovers over the offense of the opponents despite the fact that they will be on the road.

The Utes pulled off a dominating game over Fresno State in Week 2. Quarterback Travis Wilson completed 11 of 20 passes for 181 yards and a whopping five touchdowns. Moreover, Wilson rushed 11 times for 37 yards. If Wilson would get those numbers against the defense of the Michigan Wolverines, then this is a tight ballgame.

With Dres Anderson and Scott Kenneth staying as the wide receivers, the Utes are in a great situation. Anderson caught three times for 84 yards and Scott added 77 yards in six catches.

One of the major problems for the Utes would be in the defensive side. If they can contain Gardner, then it could be an upset for the Utes.
