Baltimore Orioles vs Kansas City Royals Schedule: ALCS TV Channel, Preview, Prediction, Starting Rotations

The Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals surprised the baseball fans and experts alike in beating their respective opponents, Detroit Tigers and LA Angels, in the American League Divisional Series. They survived against all odds over their mighty counterparts. Now, that they face each other in the American League Championship Series, everybody wants to see how the matchups will go.

Pitching matters in the MLB postseason, the Orioles and the Royals have ranked third and fourth in the AL when it comes to runs allowed per game. No wonder both teams have the superb pitching staff in the ALDS.

Game 1 would be an interesting matchup at the mound. The KC Royals will be sending James Shields whose numbers are not impressive at all (11 innings pitched, six earned runs, 12 strikeouts, four walks, and three home runs allowed). However, Shields can make adjustments over the batters of the Orioles.

The Orioles have the advantage in the offense. They have Nelson Cruz, the AL home run leader, who delivered two home runs in the ALDS and batted .500 for the games won. Moreover, the presence of Steve Pearce and Adam Jones could make the difference over the defense of the Royals. The Orioles led the AL in home runs during the regular season through these three players (211).

Prediction: Orioles in 6

The offense of the Orioles would make the difference in the series.
