Bills vs Lions: TV Channel Schedule, Kick Off time, Odds, and Scores

The need for a quarterback change is now for the struggling Buffalo Bills, who won their frist two games over Chicago and Miami, only to lose the last two games against San Diego and Houston.

Coach Doug Marrone wanted a quarterback change and he will start Kyle Orton as the Bills meet the Detroit Lions on Sunday at the Ford Field, Detroit, MI at 1:00 PM ET. Because of the dwindling performance of EJ Manuel, Marrone has pulled the trigger to utilize the veteran Orton, hoping that he would provide the necessary fire for the team.

Buffalo suffered a loss to Houston, 23-17, last Sunday. Manuel was intercepted twice, including the 80 yard return for a touchdown that caused them the game.

Noticeably, the Bills are struggling both in the passing and rushing offense. Manuel completed 21 of 44 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while the rushing offense got only 96 yards against the defense of Houston.

While the Bills have a chance to be back into a winning situation, Marrone’s bold move of benching Manuel would be the right call.

Offensively, Buffalo averages 198.5 yards in passing and 122.2 yards in rushing. Defensively, Buffalo yields 266.2 yards per game in passing and 71.5 yards in rushing.

The Detroit Lions have the identical record last season at 3-1. However, the Lions collapsed at the end and they never got back to win games just to be in the playoff.

With major changes in the Lions strategy, the defense has been the difference. Yielding 267.3 yards per game, the Lions defense is No. 1 in the NFL. Because of the defense of the Lions, they are now harder to beat.

Moreover, the Lions have the tandem of quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson to intensify the offensive attacks. Stafford has been a reliable quarterback in the past three years, exploding every time it is necessary.

Offensively, Detroit averages 276 yards in passing and 87.2 yards in rushing. Defensively, Detroit yields 186.5 yards in passing and 80.8 yards in rushing per game.
