Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles: TV Schedule, Start Time, Scores, AL MLB Playoff 2014

Starting Pitchers
Detroit: Max Scherzer (18-5, 3.15 ERA)
Baltimore: Chris Tillman (13-6, 3.34 ERA)

The Detroit Tigers would love to have all the advantages to open up the series with the Baltimore Orioles. Without a doubt, the starting pitchers in each game will determine the outcome of the series, and Detroit has the edge.

Detroit (90-72) maintains the confidence of advancing to the next round because of their starters in the mound. Max Scherzer (18-5, 3.15 ERA) starts on Thursday, followed by Justin Verlander (15-12, 4.54) and David Price (15-12, 3.26). They are the last three winners of the AL Cy Award. Who can beat these?

The Orioles (96-66) are not intimidated at all by the star-studded starters of the Tigers. Orioles manager Buck Showalter is going to start Chris Tillman (13-6, 3.34 ERA) in the opener. Showalter has not announced his Game 2 and 3 starters.

Baltimore would utilize the advantage of having powerful batters to derail the start of Scherzer. The Orioles are No 1 in MLB when it comes to home runs this season with 211.

”A team that swings the bat like that, they’re dangerous,” Scherzer said. ”They’re dangerous one through nine. That’s something I know going into the start. They need to have a good game plan against me and I need to have a good game plan against them.”

Detroit manager Brad Ausmus understands that the Orioles have what it takes to beat his pitchers. Ausmus has to push the right buttons at the right time to get this victory.

Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles start time is at 5:37 PM ET at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Tigers vs Orioles tv channel schedule is on TBS. Tigers vs Orioles scores and results will be posted here.
