Thursday Night Football: Saints vs Panthers TV Channel Schedule, Kick Off Time, Scores and Results

The New Orleans Saints are on the verge of getting back into the high-octane offense they usually had in the past. After a dry and slumping start, the Saints found their groove in scoring 44 points to win against the Packers last Sunday.

Tonight, New Orleans takes on the struggling Carolina Panthers (3-4-1), who are just 1/2 game ahead of the pack in the division. The Saints will have to dismantle the vaunted defense of the Panthers who are looking for a three game homestand that would probably elevate them into contention.

While the Saints have that high-powered offense through quarterback Drew Brees, their defense have to contain Carolina’s offense.

Brees completed 27 of 32 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions. He efficiently managed the game against the defense of the Packers. Moreover, the running game was responsible in maintaining the attacks as Mark Ingram had 172 yards and one touchdown in 24 attempts.

However, the Saints may not have the same comfort playing on the road as playing at the Superdome. In the past five years, the Saints have scored 30 points or more out of the 44 road games. Thus, they have to play with such chemistry and balance offense.

Though the Carolina Panthers are on top of the division, they have to find ways in developing a playoff defense. Last season, the Panthers allowed 15.1 points per game but they are yielding 26 points this year. A staggering difference that could endanger their chances of getting back into the playoffs.

The Panthers might be suffering from losing Mike Mitchell and Captain Munnerlyn in the secondary. But they have to make sure about pressuring the opponent’s quarterback, especially that they are up against Brees.

Carolina couldn’t make something from the offense, losing 13-9 to the Seahawks last week. Cam Newton completed 12 of 22 passes for 171 yards with no touchdown and one interception.

Clearly, the Panthers couldn’t shake off their offense when they are playing a tight defense. It is going to be a different ballgame on Thursday Night Football because the Saints have a lackluster defense.
