Chargers face Dolphins on NFL Sunday

While the San Diego Chargers look to avoid a three-game losing streak, the Miami Dolphins seek their third consecutive wins.

San Diego (5-3) suffered a terrible defeated in the hands of the Denver Broncos, 35-21, last week on a Thursday Night football. After becoming one of the best teams with a 5-1 start, the Chargers will try to avoid being beaten by the Dolphins.

With the current decline of the Chargers, linebacker Dwight Freeney believes that they have to focus on the big picture.

Philip Rivers completed 30 of 41 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns but against two interceptions. He was not efficient against the defense of the of the Broncos.

With Antonio Gates, Keenan Allen and Malcolm Floyd as part of the receiving corpse, the Chargers will always thrive, especially that they need to win this match.

The defense of the Chargers has been one of the central points of their success, but in the last three games they were not able to perform well. San Diego’s defense has allowed an average of 28.6 points and 395.3 yards over its last three games after surrendering just 17.2 and 290.8 in its first five.

Offensively, San Diego averages 267.5 yards in passing and 85.8 in rushing. Defensively, San Diego yields 219.1 in passing and 110.9 in rushing.

The Miami Dolphins have an opportunity to launch themselves into the playoff. Miami pulled off a 27-13 victory over Jacksonville last Sunday courtesy of two interception return for touchdowns. This means that the offense struggled.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 16 of 29 passes for 196 yards. He struggled in finding his receivers, but thanks to the defense which bailed him out. Tannehill was sacked seven times in the last two games, and his offensive line needs to protect him better.

Offensively, Miami averages 217 yards in passes and 138 in rushes. Defensively, Miami yields 211.6 in passes and 111.1 in rushes.
