Cowboys vs Colts Scores and Updates: Dallas leads 35-0

Tony Romy has completed 17 of 18 passes for 208 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Dallas Cowboys in a 35-0 score over Indianapolis after three quarters.

Preview:

The Dallas Cowboys host the Indianapolis Colts in one of the most anticipated NFL games on Sunday, December 21, at the AT&T Stadium, Arlington Texas.

A win for the Dallas Cowboys would enable them capture the NFC East and a playoff berth. While the Cowboys were the favorites early in the half of the season, they have faltered but enough time to recover and be back on top of the division.

Much of the talks in the recent days were about running back DeMarco Murray’s broken left hand. Murray’s status is unclear but he plans to play for the Cowboys.

Part of the success of the Cowboys (10-4) was because of Murray’s unfathomable season. He has 1,687 yards in rushing and needs only 87 to the single season franchise record of Emmitt Smith. Murray’s offense is needed for the Cowboys to dominate the visiting Colts.

In the past six games, Murray was held below 87 yards three times and the Cowboys are happy to have him break Smith’s record on Sunday if he is healthy.

The Cowboy’s journey to the playoff comes easier when the Eagles suffered a loss to the Redskins on Saturday. This paved the way for the Cowboys to have the separation with a win at home.

Murray rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns in 31 attempts in a 38-17 victor over Philadelphian on December 14. Meanwhile, Tony Romo completed 22 of 31 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions. Romo needs Murray’s offense to take away the load on his shoulders.

Offensively, Dallas averages 231.1 in passing and 146.6 in rushing. Defensively, Dallas yields 249.6 in passing and 110.4 in rushing.

The Indianapolis Colts (10-4) already clinched the AFC South, which means that they will have at least to play at home in the playoff. The Colts are behind New England and Denver by one game and they would need to win the remaining games and hope that one of those teams lose its last two games to get a bye, but it would be impossible.

By settling to get the No. 3 seed in the AFC, Indianapolis might be resting some of its injured players. The Colts can afford to lose the last two games and stayed at No. 3.

Andrew Luck continues to lead the league in passing yards with 4,492 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Offensively, Indiana averages 310.9 in passing (1st in the NFL) and 110.5 in rushing. Defensively, Indianapolis yields 240.6 in rushing and 110.4 in rushing.
