Ohio State vs Wisconsin football: Big Ten Championship TV Schedule, Odds and Point Spread, Kick Off Time, Preview

The Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday for the Big Ten Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ohio State has been unfortunate this season, losing yet another quarterback because of injury. Before the season started, Braxton Miller was injured and this time J.T. Miller will be out broking his ankle in Saturday’s victory over Michigan.

In the College Football Playoff rankings, Ohio State was ranked 5th, but a victory an a loss of one of the top four would allow the Buckeyes to have a chance into the playoff. However, the loss of Barrett would ultimately affect the perceptions of the selection committee.

Ohio State (11-1, 8-0) will be having sophomore Cardale Jones as the starter in the Big Ten Conference title game.

Coach Urban Meyer has to maintain his composure in another setback on the quarterback position. Ohio State quarterback coach Tom Herman has only few days to turn Jones into a dangerous player like Barrett and Miller.

It remains to be seen if the quarterback problem will cripple the offense of the Buckeyes. Certainly, there’s a speculation that the Buckeyes will not have enough time to be effective with the sophomore quarterback.

Without Barrett, the No. 5 Ohio State is the underdog (4.5) in this match. It would be difficult to fathom how the Buckeyes would dominate without Barret.

Offensively, Ohio State averages 246 yards in passing and 257.4 in rushing. Defensively, Ohio State yields 188.3 yards in passing and 145.6 in rushing.

The Wisconsin Badgers entered in the title game via a win over Minnesota, 34-24, last Saturday. Melvin Gordon rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns. The Badgers rallied from two touchdown deficit to win the West Division.

Gordon would be the key in beating the Buckeyes. Gordon already rushed for 2,260 yards, a Big Ten record, and a single game with 408 yards against Nebraska on November 15.

“It’s got me on high alert and the only thing I can do is listen to Melvin Gordon, because I know Melvin is going to tell me what his mindset is - and he will be 100 percent ready to roll on Saturday,” Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen said about Gordon’s health.

Offensively, Wisconsin averages 147.8 in passing and 334.3 in rushing. Defensively, Wisconsin yields 156.6 yards in passing and 103.8 in rushing.
