Alberto Contador grabs overall standings in Vuelta a Espana

Alberto Contador finished fourth place in stage to be on top of the general individual classification in the bicycle race Vuelta Espana after the individual time trial Stage 10.

The 36.7 km Stage 1 from Real Monasterio de Santa Maria - Borja created a a shake up in the overall standings with Nairo Quinta crashing and Contador moves into the lead.

Tony Martin captured the stage with the clock of 47’02 while Fabian Cancellara finished 2nd place with 11″ behind. Rigoberto Uran clocked in 3rd place with 15″ longer. Meanwhile, Contador, known to be a great time trialist, ended the course with 39″ away from the stage winner.

Contador taks the overall classification standing with an advantage of 27 seconds to Alejandro Valverde and 59 seconds agaisnt Rigoberto Uran.

Tomorrows Stage 11 will start from Pamplona to Santuario de San Miguel de Aralar, covering 153.4 km.

3. Rigoberto URAN (177), 59″
4. Winner ANACONA (2), 1’12
5. Christopher FROOME (191), 1’18

Nairo Alexander QUINTANA (159) is 11th ( 3’25).
