Monday Night Football (MNF) live stream, tv schedule, and scores

The New York Giants face the Detroit Lions in the Monday Night Football of the NFL at 7:10 PM ET at the Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan.

The NY Giants may have prepared for a better start and not to follow what transpired last year when they lost six consecutive games. New York finished the season with a 7-9 record as it tried to bounce back from a bad start, winning seven wins in 10 games.

New York had many changes in the roster but it won’t make that much difference unless the turnovers and poor offensive plays would be negated. The Giants tallied for 294 points, which ranked 28th in the NFL and they have 44 turnovers.

With a different offensive system installed by newly hired offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, everybody expects a better New York Giants team this season. The Giants’ offensive line has been improved as well as the much maligned defense.

This is the first season for quarterback Eli Manning to run the West Coast system. Manning struggled in the offense last year by his 27 interceptions. He may be well-connected to his wide receivers Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham Jr.

”Don’t get me wrong, we’re ready for Week 1,” Manning said. ”But I think as a season goes on, you’re always looking to improve, whether you’ve been in a system for 10 years or whether you have young guys and need guys to step up or you have new players, there’s always room for improvement.”

The defense of the Giants would be the key in winning games. With the inclusion of cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Walter Thurmond, with improving holdover Prince Amukamara and veteran safety Antrel Rolle, the Giants would be difficult to be thrown to.

Matthew Stafford would be tested against the new defense of the Giants. Stafford has been consistent in passing as he accumulated 4,650 yards and 29 touchdowns against 19 interceptions. Stafford is one of the best quarterbacks that hasn’t been lucky enough to lead his team in the postseason annually.

Calvin Johnson will always be the primary target of Stafford. Johnson had 1,492 yards in 110 receptions and 12 touchdowns last season. In the running back position, Reggie Bush rushed for 1,006 yards.

The Lions lost the final four games of the season that paved the way to be cut in the chase for a play off slot. Because of the collapse, Detroit hired former Indianapolis Colts Jim Caldwell.

With Caldwell’s offensive system, the Lions are in good hands. One of losses of the Lions in 2013 was at home against the Giants on December 22.
