NU Bulldogs take on FEU Tamaraws in Game 2 UAAP Finals showdown

Who will win Game 2 of the UAAP Finals? The NU Bulldogs take on the FEU Tamaraws in Game 2 of the UAAP Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 3:30 PM, Philippine Standard Time.

After losing Game One, 75-70, the National University Bulldogs would love to storm back like the way they did in the past. Three games they were in a do-or-die situation against UE Red Warriors and Ateneo (twice) and they won all of the games.

NU coach Eric Altamirano understands what adjustments he has to make, especially in defending Mike Tolomia, who scored 15 points, and Roger Pogoy, with 14 points in Game One. Surely, as the best defensive team in the league, NU allowed 75 points against the rampaging offense of NU.

The Bulldogs’ defense should make the difference in containing Tolomia and Mac Belo, who was used as a decoy in the previous game. NU must be able to stop the low-post game of the Tamaraws in order to survive another game.

Altamirano would probably utilize Aroga on the post to destroy the defense of the Tamaraws. Also, NU has to separate themselves early to avoid another close game.

On the other hand, the FEU Tamaraws want to end the series as soon as possible. While NU would make the adjustments, FEU will again go to its strength. FEU always goes to Tolomia and when he is doubled, he kicks the ball to shooter like Pogoy. This strategy would always work for FEU unless NU makes the adjustments.

Can NU tie the series? UAAP Finals Game Two between NU and FEU is televised on ABS CBN.
