Peavy entered the game with a 4.97 ERA and 10 home runs allowed in 83.1 career innings (14 starts) against the Royals. Moreover, Peavy has struggle at Kauffman Stadium, with 1-5 record, 6.42 ERA, and eight home runs allowed.

This is going to be a test for the Royals hitters to take out Peavy early of the game. Billy Butler and Escobar have career batting averages of 0.424 and 0.409 over Peavy
Kansas City turns to Yordano Ventura, a 23-year-old rookie, who is one of the hardest-throwing starting pitcher in the MLB.

”We have a lot of confidence in Ventura. We have confidence that we will win every time he takes the mound,” Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer said. ”We know we can do it. We’re a confident group. But we can’t do anything without winning Game 6. We’re excited to get back home, where we feed off the fans and that energy.”

The SF Giants pulled off eight hits over Ventura in 5 1/3 innings in Game two, but they never capitalized it as they went on 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position. The Giants would be patient this time in facing Ventura.

“His confidence is just staggering,” manager Ned Yost said, via Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com. “I mean, you walk in that clubhouse, and he looks you square in the eye with that glint that says, ‘I’m ready for this.’ … With him, there is zero nervousness. I know he’s going to go out and compete and do his best, and we’ll take whatever comes with that.”
