SF Giants vs St Louis Cardinals Game 3: MLB Playoffs TV Channel Schedule, NLCS Start Time, preview and scores

The SF Giants host the St Louis Cardinals in Game 3 of the MLB Playoffs NLCS on Tuesday at 4:07 PM ET at the AT&T Park.

The series is tied 1-1 after the Cardinals pulled off a 5-4 victory at Busch Stadium last Sunday. Catcher Yadier Molina may not play for this game manager Mike Matheny keeps him active in the roster. Matheny believes that Molina might be able to help his team off the bench. The catcher is recovering from a strained left oblique muscle which he sustained Sunday.

”A little better than what I expected,” Molina said afterward. ”When I woke up, I was moving all right. We’ll see. I’m going to try.”

Matheny would utilize A.J.Pierzynski as replacement for Molina. Pierzynski will be catching for John Lackey, a former teammate in Boston. Lackey already pitched against the SF Giants in the World Series in 2002, which the Angels won. In that game, Lackey intentionally walked Barry Bonds four times.

Tim Hudson will take the mound for the SF Giants. This is the first time for Hudson to start in a best-of-seven series in his 16 years in the MLB.

”That would be a pretty big blow for them, not only from an offensive standpoint but from a defensive standpoint how he handles those pitchers.” Hudson said regarding Molina ”But it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if he’s not in the lineup for a few days, there’s no question about that.”

The St Louis Cardinals and the SF Giants are building a rivalry. They played in the NLCS two years ago that ended up for the Giants’ victory after trailing 3-2 in the series. The SF Giants that time became the eventual champions.
