Florida State vs Clemson football: TV Schedule, Odds, Point Spread, Preview

Florida State football faces Clemson in this week’s college football schedule at 8:00 PM ET, on Saturday, at the Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium Tallahassee, FL.

Clemson (1-1) is back into proving itself as one of the contenders in the FBS against the No. 1 Florida State. By losing to Georgia in the opener, Clemson has a small margin of error to be part of the inaugural college football playoff, in which four teams would be selected. Losing one game already, the Tigers may be out of contention if they allow the Seminoles to take this match.

The Tigers would not forget what transpired last year when the Seminoles visited them, then-No. 3 in the nation. Florida State dispatched the Tigers in a whopping 51-14 humiliation that served as the launching pad for the Seminoles way to the national title.

Part of the success of the Seminoles so far is the defense which is exemplary in the college football. In the passing defense, it ranked No. 1 by yielding 156.6 yards per game, and in the rushing defense, it ranked No. 18 by giving up 124.8 yards per game. The defense is one of the best in the country.

Though it’s hard for the Seminoles to duplicate the high-octane offense that they had last season, they still have the presence of Jameis Winston at quarterback. For as long as Winston is part of the offense, the Seminoles are dangerous. Moreover, the offensive line has five seniors who knows how to play with poise.

Florida State receiver Rashad Greene said that the result may be the same, but they may not beat teams by 30 or 40 like they were last year. Even fans and experts believe that the Seminoles do not have the same firepower in the offense, compared to last season.

Clemson thinks here of avenging themselves from that disappointing loss. A win against the No. 1 team in the country would likely push the Tigers higher in the rankings, currently they are No 22.

With seven starters back on defense, the Tigers can play tough against the Seminoles. At the quarterback position, Cole Stoudt and Deshaun Watson are the new faces.

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher knows how tough the Tigers are in this game. ”It’s always good to be able to see yourself when you play at a very high level mentally and physically and emotionally, what you’re capable of,” Fisher said.

Florida State vs Clemson tv schedule is on ABC.
